    • Faithful Leaders : And The Things That Matter Most

      $14.99

Explore the things that really matter for a successful ministry.

“Well done good and faithful servant.” Every ministry leader wants to hear these words when they meet their Lord. But what does successful ministry look like?

There are many books on leadership strategies and church structures, but this one looks at what matters most: the character and attitude of church leaders. It recognizes that the spiritual health of the church leaders in large part determines the spiritual health of the congregation and therefore the success of the ministry.

In this short, punchy, challenging and at times surprising book, Rico Tice draws on decades of experience in church leadership to call fellow pastors and others with oversight of areas of church ministry to define success biblically, fight their sin, lead themselves and serve their churches. It will be a battle, but one worth fighting because personal holiness and godly leadership matter eternally.

A must-read on pastoral leadership for pastors, elders, worship leaders, youth leaders and anyone else with a leadership role in church ministry.

    • Understanding The Jewish Roots Of Christianity

      $29.99

      How Jewish is Christianity?

The question of how Jesus’ followers relate to Judaism has been a matter of debate since Jesus first sparred with the Pharisees. The controversy has not abated, taking many forms over the centuries. In the decades following the Holocaust, scholars and theologians reconsidered the Jewish origins and character of Christianity, finding points of continuity.

Understanding the Jewish Roots of Christianity advances this discussion by freshly reassessing the issues. Did Jesus intend to form a new religion? Did Paul abrogate the Jewish law? Does the New Testament condemn Judaism? How and when did Christianity split from Judaism? How should Jewish believers in Jesus relate to a largely gentile church? What meaning do the Jewish origins of Christianity have for theology and practice today?

In this volume, a variety of leading scholars and theologians explore the relationship of Judaism and Christianity through biblical, historical, theological, and ecclesiological angles. This cutting-edge scholarship will enrich readers’ understanding of this centuries-old debate.

Though diverse in contexts and disciplines, the contributors share a commitment to equipping the saints to “rightly handle the word of truth.” Through essays on foundations, methods, employing theology for preaching, and preaching for theology, this volume will equip preachers and theologians to engage deeply with the text of the Bible and communicate its meaning with clarity.

    • Figuring Resurrection : Joseph As A Death And Resurrection Figure In The Ol

      $29.99

The death and resurrection of Joseph

Towards the end of Genesis, the narrative slows down to tell the story of Joseph. There is no dispute that Joseph’s story is unique, but why does it deserve such focused attention? And how does this story relate to the rest of Genesis?

In Figuring Resurrection, Jeffrey Pulse presents the view that Joseph is a death-and-resurrection- figure. A close literary reading of Genesis 37-50 reveals that Joseph’s story is one of rejection and restoration, descent and ascent, condemnation and exaltation, exile and return, death and resurrection. Far from a lengthy diversion, Joseph’s story of “death and resurrection” plays an important role in the theology of Genesis and later Second Temple Jewish literature.

Figuring Resurrection has implications for our understanding of Joseph’s narrative, the book of Genesis, Hebrew thinking on the afterlife, and typology.

    • Hidden Man : The Secret To Living In The Spirit Realm

      $16.99

The Hidden Man by E. W. Kenyon is a masterly unveiling of the deeper walk in the Spirit. “The hidden man of the heart” is the human spirit recreated in Christ. The only way to know God and the Lord Jesus Christ is through the spirit because this is how God imparts His messages to us. He unveils spiritual realities to our hidden man, and one of those vital messages is an understanding of our identity in Christ. It is of utmost importance that we understand who we are. Until we do, we can’t know the riches that belong to us and the abilities that are ours.

Faith, like wisdom, is a product of our spirit. Until our spirit gains mastery over our senses, our faith will never be strong and vigorous. Faith is developed and wisdom is enriched as we meditate and act on the Word of God.

    • Feeler : Discovering How Sensitivity Helps You Discern And Act On Gods Voic

      $16.99

The Scriptures give us a full-color picture of a God who is moved by emotions such as yearning, love, and compassion. Our human emotions reflect the emotional qualities of our Creator, who made us in His own image. Feelings have a vital place in any believer’s life, not just in those who have a more sensitive nature due to their personalities.

The Feeler by James W. Goll delivers a remarkable biblical perspective on our emotions and how they help us to discern and act on God’s voice. We experience the love, joy, and presence of God with our feelings. Our emotions have an impact on our bodies, our level of holiness, our relationships, and our decisions.

The Bible tells us we need to have our “senses trained to discern good and evil” (Hebrews 5:14 NASB). What are we training? Both our natural senses and our spiritual senses. Our physical senses, with the addition of “knowing,” correspond to our spiritual senses in these ways:

      Eyes (sight): visions and dreams

      Ears (hearing): voices and sounds

      Heart (touch): emotions and feelings

      Tongue (taste): good and evil

      Nose (smell): good and bad

Mind (knowing): divine thoughts and impressions

This book will show you how to listen for and recognize the often subtle ways God’s Spirit speaks to believers, as well as how to discern good and evil spirits. With consecrated gifts and senses, you can reach out to the body of Christ and to the world at large in both spiritual and practical ways, making you much better equipped to fulfill your role as an ambassador of the gospel.

      Some attributes of the Enthusiast:

Motivation: To be satisfied. This leads to Sevens pursuing the things they think will bring them happiness and true satisfaction in life.

Biggest Fear: Sevens fear being deprived or in pain. They avoid negative emotions as much as possible.

    • Hope For This Present Crisis

      $24.99

Our culture has lost its mind. Now, we are waging a bigger fight-a war for our soul.

Is it possible our world has gone mad? We are under siege and the war is not from without; it is from within. The collapse of the Roman Empire occurred in a single generation and was not so much the result of invasions by their enemies but the result of moral decay and internal corruption. Similar patterns are emerging in America. We neglected or abandoned our traditional institutions long ago, but now it’s time to take them back.

Today, forces are at work to strip the principles and precepts of faith from public venues or minimize their significance. Many progressive leaders are convinced that when Christianity disintegrates it will create peace on earth. But the loss of our heritage will merely create a spiritual vacuum that will be filled with folly, crammed with chaos, or invaded by Islam. The reality is: Western civilization will become so decadent and reckless that America will collapse like a house of cards.

In Hope for This Present Crisis, Dr. Youssef provides a diagnosis of the insanity of the current culture and a seven-step prescription for restoring sanity to a world gone mad.  Here’s the seven-step path to restoring a world gone mad:

*Remember the Truth – Stand firm on the truth of the gospel.

*Restore the Soul – Seek God’s approval not the approval of other people.

*Revitalize the Family – Guard your children from the horrors of the Internet.

*Reestablish the Classroom – Support conscientious, caring public school teachers.

*Respect our Freedoms – Know your rights.Reform our Society – Morally and spiritually purify yourself.

*Revive the Church – Demonstrate the forgiving love of Jesus at all times.

This book will teach you how to stand up to attacks on your faith, and defend Christianity as a meaningful contribution to society.

    • Life On The Hill

      $21.45

Martin Luther King’s, “I have a dream,” and Winston Churchill’s, “We will fight them on the beaches,” were time-honoured speeches aimed at challenging peoples’ beliefs and behaviour. Yet these great addresses pale into insignificance when compared to the Sermon on the Mount delivered by Jesus two thousand years ago. His unparalleled message describes the attitudes that God wants us to embrace if we are to see His kingdom come. ? Life on the Hill is a journey of discovery. Dynamic and practical, this book takes us on a journey deep into the heartland of Jesus’ eight beatitudes. If we want to live life at a different level, we are going to have to transform our thinking and start applying these Be-Attitudes to every area of our lives. ? What we believe affects how we behave and ultimately what we become. The best place to build a new and godly set of beliefs is on the rock of these radical attitudes. Only when our thoughts are aligned with God’s thoughts will we soar to new heights where God’s dream for our lives becomes a reality. ? Using amusing illustrations and pointed anecdotes, Chris Spicer shows us how we can change our angles of approach and start enjoying “life on the hill.”

      $23.73

Soul’s Scribe helps you to make sense of your life story and gives you the confidence to effectively share your testimony with others. Each chapter provides food thought about God’s narrative, how it relates to you and how you experience God in the world at different stages of your life. • David Sheppard Batting For The Poor

      $25.99

Sheppard first came to prominence as a cricketer in the 1950s. An opening batsman, he was selected for England while still at Cambridge, and later captained his country. In the 1960s Sheppard was a leading figure in the campaign to sever sporting links with South Africa, a crucial factor in the ending of apartheid. Converted in his first year at Cambridge, Sheppard was ordained into the Church of England in 1955. His curacy in Islington gave him a passion to serve the church in the inner city, a calling he fulfilled as warden for twelve years of the Mayflower Centre in Canning Town. Following his appointment as Bishop of Woolwich in 1969, he published a major text about his work in urban areas, Built as a City. David Sheppard made his biggest mark as Bishop of Liverpool from 1975-97, forging a pioneering partnership with Archbishop Derek Worlock, his Roman Catholic counterpart. For twenty years the two worked tirelessly to revive the fortunes of the city, helping to break down its many internal divisions. In 1991 Sheppard was seriously considered for Archbishop of Canterbury following Robert Runcie’ retirement. In 1997 Sheppard was awarded a life peerage, and played an active role in the Lords, and as a writer, speaker and preacher, until his death in 2005. This biography draws on the papers left by Sheppard in Liverpool Central Library, other archival material, and more than 150 interviews conducted by the author.

    • Evil In Genesis

      $29.99

      The genesis of evil.

The book of Genesis recites the beginnings of the cosmos and its inhabitants. It also reveals the beginning of evil. Before long, evil infests God’s good creation. From there, good and evil coexist and drive the plot of Genesis.

In Evil in Genesis, Ingrid Faro uncovers how the Bible’s first book presents the meaning of evil. Faro conducts a thorough examination of evil on lexical, exegetical, conceptual, and theological levels. This focused analysis allows the Hebrew terminology to be nuanced and permits Genesis’ own distinct voice to be heard. Genesis presents evil as the taking of something good and twisting it for one’s own purposes rather than enjoying it how God intended. Faro illuminates the perspective of Genesis on a range of themes, including humanity’s participation in evil, evil’s consequences, and God’s responses to evil.

    • How To Revive Evangelism

      $16.99

In a post-Christian, post-modern, post-truth society where Jesus followers aren’t often well regarded, modern evangelism approaches are eroding and increasingly ineffective. Christians often talk more than we listen, confront when we should converse, and demand that people believe before they belong. We need a compelling way to share our faith that combines the timeless practices of Jesus with timely perspectives about our post-everything era.

Author and Executive Director of Alpha US Craig Springer believes that reaching non-Christians is possible, but only if we are willing to shift our perspectives, abandon ineffective methodologies, and consider the unique cultural moment in which we are living. In Sharing Your Faith Like Jesus, he shares the often-overlooked evangelistic approaches of Jesus himself and demonstrates how returning to these fundamentals are key to reviving evangelism in the 21st century. Incorporating groundbreaking and often startling data, Springer offers Christians seven shifts in how to share their faith with friends and family members, neighbors and coworkers which create greater potential for life change.

      $20.00

This Bible study introduces and retells every female character who contributes to one or more New Testament stories, diving deeply into what each woman’s story means for us today with questions for reflection and discussion.

For too long the women of the Bible have been depicted in one-dimensional terms. On one side are saints, such as Mary, while on the other are “bad girls,” such as Eve and Jezebel. Just as often, the female characters of the Bible are simply ignored. However, the women of the Bible are complex, multidimensional individuals whose lives are inspiring, funny, and tragic in ways too many of us never hear.

In this second of two volumes, Lynn Japinga acquaints readers with the women of the New Testament. From faithful forerunners like Anna and Elizabeth to female disciples like the sisters Mary, Martha, and Mary Magdalene to first-generation followers like Lydia and Dorcas, readers will encounter a wealth of foremothers in the faith in all their messy, yet redeemable, humanity. This Bible study introduces and retells every female character who contributes to one or more New Testament stories, diving deeply into what each woman’s story means for us today with questions for reflection and discussion.

    • Worship For The Whole People Of God Second Edition

      $50.00

This revised edition of the popular textbook on worship by renowned hymn writer and professor Ruth C. Duck provides theological foundations for worship and explores the ways Christians have adapted worship to various cultures to help them live faithfully and to communicate the gospel to others. The author celebrates the many languages and cultural settings in which the gospel has been, and is, preached, sung, and prayed. The goal of this volume is to support good pastoral and congregational reflection on what worship is and does. Consequently, Duck discusses many different forms of worship from several cultures (African American, Asian, Euro-American) and offers advice on how to read a congregation and define its culture in order to plan culturally appropriate worship. She includes many practical suggestions for preparing and leading worship, including diverse ministries of music, movement, and visual arts that are becoming more popular today.

From worship’s theological underpinnings, the book turns to worship leadership, forms of prayer, preaching, the sacraments, ordination, and various other liturgies. Because of its emphasis on vital and Spirit-led worship, this comprehensive book on Christian worship will be used in years to come, not only as a core textbook for seminarians and ministry students from a variety of cultures and traditions but also as a resource for local church pastors and laity who are dedicated to the enlivening of Christian worship.

In this new edition, Duck updates and expands the recommended resources, updates the section on worship trends, enhances the section on multicultural worship, and revises marriage information based on cultural and denominational changes.

Highlights include stories of four churches that are developing creative ways to grow and meet the possibilities and challenges of these times, especially in seeking justice, serving people in their neighborhood, and building bridges among cultures and religious groups. In addition, a new appendix by David Gambrell addresses the theological and practical questions surrounding online worship in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.
