Easy to administer. Takes about 30 minutes to do. Anyone can give the test to a student. It includes complete, simple instructions for the person conducting the Test. (Since it is an ORAL test there is also Audio pronunciation CD is available for Tester to be sure of pronunciations – see below) The student is asked to pronounce 380 words during the test. The words progress from easy to harder. The Teacher marks an error for each mispronounced word. The Teacher listens to the student pronounce the words in the Test list. Based on the number of incorrectly pronounced words the Teacher can score their student from the second grade to the 12th grade level of proficiency. The Blumenfeld Oral Reading Assessment Test contains five BEFORE test sets and also includes another set of five AFTER tests which can be used after remediation has been completed.
