Reading Through Matthew Encountering God
$21.23God teaches and speaks to people through the Bible. This book will teach and inspire Christians to read the Bible and respond with their lives. In Reading Through Matthew, Encountering God, I demonstrate my method of Bible reading, journaling, and prayer. This Dynamic Bible Reading, as I call it, involves reading a small Bible passage and journaling the believer’s interaction with that passage through three distinct sections; (1) Scripture Insight: the meaning of the passage, (2) Application: how to apply the meaning to life, and (3) Prayer: seeking God’s guidance in living out what the passage teaches. To best draw the meaning of Scripture into our lives, we must read it, work through its meaning, and begin to practice it in life. This book helps to develop these skills. Once gained, I hope each reader will pass this book on to someone else who might benefit from it.

Ishmaels Apocalypse
$29.98Ishmael’s Apocalypse is a mystery thriller with intriguing true-to-life terrorism that can happen at any moment in any nation on earth. The story unfolds within an odyssey of world events, during a timeline the author calls ‘his last seven days of grace’. This period begins seven days prior to the Jewish New Year in the Hebrew Calendar year of 5777. The mystery ‘who is Ishmael’ is archetypal, connecting the main characters with secret twists and uncertain turns, pulsing through the storyline. Its action packed scenes engage modern military weapons in authentic places. Unlike typical action novels, this plot incorporates the spiritual nature of people and the significant influence that world religions play on the governing of sovereign nations. The themes of national pride and moral values are succinctly questioned. Each apocalyptical scene moves your mind, body and soul into a future realm of terror on a grand scale. Even so, the magnitude of events will not overshadow the value of one human life.

Blessed By The Best
$24.98The poetic verses in this book express some of my beliefs on how faith in God can turn things around when dealing with life’s ups and downs. I have shared these verses with many in the course of my duties as a spiritual counselor. I use many of them on a daily basis to remind people about the power of God and his word. Although they are original verses, they are spiritually inclined, inspired by the Bible. They are designed to provide courage and strength as we encounter life’s trial and tribulations. This book is the result of the encouragement and inspiration he has received to publish his works.

Scepter And The Star
$41.99John J. Collins here offers an up-to-date review of Jewish messianic expectations around the time of Jesus, in light of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
He breaks these expectations down into categories: Davidic, priestly, and prophetic. Based on a small number of prophetic oracles and reflected in the various titles and names assigned to the messiah, the Davidic model holds a clear expectation that the messiah figure would play a militant role. In sectarian circles, the priestly model was far more prominent. Jesus of Nazareth, however, showed more resemblance to the prophetic messiah during his historical career, identified as the Davidic “Son of Man” primarily after his death.
In this second edition of The Scepter and the Star Collins has revised the discussion of Jesus and early Christianity, completely rewritten a chapter on a figure who claims to have a throne in heaven, and has added a brief discussion of the recently published and controversial Vision of Gabriel.

Discovering Jesus : Why Four Gospels To Portray One Person
$16.99An introductory guide to the four Gospels, showing how each differs in what it emphasizes about the nature and ministry of Jesus Christ. If asked how Matthew’s Gospel differs from Luke’s, or what aspects of Jesus’ personhood and ministry the Gospel of Mark focuses on compared to those of John, how would you answer? In Discovering Jesus, T. D. Alexander sets out to help readers understand how each Gospel account is uniquely written and why all four are important for having a rich picture of the person of Jesus Christ. Alexander guides readers to see how the Gospels display Jesus as the Son of David who establishes the kingdom of God, the Son of God who suffers to ransom others, the Savior of the world who seeks the lost, and the Lamb of God who brings eternal life through a new exodus. Each chapter ends with discussion questions for individual or group study.

Wrestling With An Angel
$9.99It sounded at first like something out of an old horror movie. I thought maybe someone was just playing around, but then I heard it again and again, a loud piercing cry, and less like Hollywood every time. The windows were down in my police cruiser on that warm fall day, but I still couldn’t tell where the sounds came from. I began looking around for the unlikely sight of someone being disemboweled in a mall parking lot on a Saturday afternoon. Seeing nothing, and still hearing the screams, I called in a “disturbance.’ Around the next corner I found the source of the commotion. So begins Greg Lucas’ captivating account of life as a husband, a police officer, and Jake’s dad. Jake Lucas, the first of four children, lives with severe physical and mental challenges. Caring for him each day is an ordeal few of us can imagine, and this story of Jake’s first 17 years is not one you will soon forget. But the remarkable thing is how the whole narrative is saturated with wonder at the grace and goodness of God, who brings hope and promise through his Son into the darkest of circumstances. In this book, we see that Jake’s problems are our problems, only bigger, and the challenges of caring for him carry profound lessons about God’s care for us. Wrestling with an Angel is about tragedy and laughter and pain and joy. It is about faith and grace and endurance and God’s unfailing, loving wisdom daily being worked out in each of our lives, whatever the nature or extent of our difficulties. Here is a book that may explain faith to you in ways you never quite grasped, through a life few of us can relate to. When it is all done, we come away better able to live as Christ calls us to live.

Fructose Exposed : The Truth About Americas Expanding Waistline And Failing
$20.61The United States is witnessing an explosion of the metabolic syndrome. Research is finally defining the cause of the metabolic syndrome. A sugar in the headlines these days, high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), was initially thought to be the culprit. But fructose, also known as fruit sugar, is the true villain; and its consumption in America has increased 600% in the past 25 years! Gospel And The Mind
$19.99By establishing central themes of the West’s Christian inheritance as the basis of the intellectual life, Green shows that any recovery of the life of the mind depends on a recovery of the gospel. History demonstrates that wherever the cross is planted, the academy follows. But history alone cannot demonstrate why this is-and must be-the case. Green engages theology and philosophy to prove that the Christian vision of God, mankind, and the world provides the necessary precondition for and enduring foundation of meaningful intellectual life. The Gospel and the Mind, deeply rooted in Augustinian and Reformed thought, shows that core principles of the West’s Christian inheritance-such as creation and the importance of history, the centrality of a telos to all things, and the logos and the value of words-form the matrix of any promising and sustainable intellectual life. More than a lament of the state of the evangelical mind or even an argument for the primacy of a Christian worldview, The Gospel and the Mind is a paradigm-shifting declaration that the life of the mind starts at the cross.

Ecology Of The New Testament
$29.99IVP Print On Demand Title
God is the Creator of all and cares deeply for all that he has made. His vision for creation is seen through a world teeming with life where eternity is breathed into and through all creation. Jesus teaches that humans must live with a spirit of generosity and restraint; however, a spirit of meanness and greed dominates human culture and leaves nearly 1.3 billion people living on less than $1 a day.
The politics of globalization based on principles of greed have resulted in the loss of biodiversity, deforestation, and a shortage of food and clean water. Jesus teaches that those who are generous are blessed, and such generosity brings justice to all creation. There cannot be God’s social justice without ecological sanity, and yet we tend to speak of social justice as though non-human creation doesn’t matter. God cares even for the flowers of the field, yet we show contempt for God in our careless plunder of his creation. To love God is to love all that he has made, from our own families to the soil outside our homes.

Paul Hinlicky reads the history of the early church as a genuine, centuries-long theological struggle to make sense of the confession of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. Protesting a recent parting of the ways between systematic theology and the history of early Christianity, Hinlicky relies on the insights of historical criticism to argue in this historical survey for the coherence of doctrinal development in the early church. Hinlicky contends that the Christian tradition shows evidence of being governed by a hermeneutic of “cross and resurrection.” In successive chapters he finds in the New Testament writings a collective Christological decision against docetism; in the union of Old and New Testaments, a monotheistic decision against Gnostic dualism; in the resulting sweep of the canon a narrative of the divine economy of salvation that posed a trinitarian alternative to Arian Unitarianism; and in the insistence upon the cross of the incarnate Son, a rebuke of Nestorianism. This book is written with the student of early Christianity and the development of doctrine in mind.

Trinity Practically Speaking
$27.99Three Gods, or One, or Three-in-One?
Since the word Trinity does not appear in the Bible, many people wonder whether the doctrine is anything more than an intellectual puzzle created by theologians. This book takes readers on a guided tour of the logic leading to understanding God as a Trinity.
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in the Bible (and in Christian experience) are all vital to the reality of salvation. All three save. This point may not seem to be very significant until seen in the light of the basic premise of the entire Bible, namely, that only God can save (Hosea 13:4). There are benefits involved in understanding God as a communion of persons, a circle of love. God is no longer viewed as a distant judge removed from the sorrows of earthly existence. Salvation can be seen as more than mere forgiveness of sins. It also involves a life-transforming communion of divine love. A robust understanding of the Trinity fosters a more full and transformed Christian life.

Open The Sky
$21.86On September 1, 1991, bush pilot Dwayne King spearheaded one of the first missionary flights into the crumbling Soviet empire. The historic mission climaxed the transformation of a wild child from upstate New York into a selfless servant. The saga continues at Kingdom Air Corps, where he’s training the next generation of young missionaries to fly the Word beyond where the road ends and wilderness begins.
Award-winning journalist Mark Winheld, Dwayne’s friend and fellow traveler, spotlights the turning point. When Dwayne, a teenage hot-rodder, read Jungle Pilot-the story of missionary Nate Saint, martyred in Ecuador in 1956-his heart turned from drag-racing for fun to flying for God. From that moment on he followed a higher calling, armed only with faith, humor and chutzpah-and the reflexes that had kept him from wrecking cars on the hilly roads of home.
In “Open the Sky,” you’ll see, through Dwayne’s eyes, the ravages of loneliness and alcohol in the Alaskan bush. You’ll feel the courage of Russian believers surviving in the ruins of a destroyed civilization, given new hope by recent aviation freedoms. You’ll sense the forces that hammered a thrill-seeking adolescent into a mature servant who lives out the words he says and believes: “There’s only three things that are eternal. Only three. God, God’s Word, and people.”

Domestic violence is a leading cause of injury and death to women worldwide. Nearly one in four women around the globe is physically or sexually abused in her lifetime, and gender violence causes more death and disability among women aged 15 to 44 than cancer, malaria, traffic accidents or war. Regrettably, the church is not immune to this problem. Numerous studies suggest that incident rates among active churchgoers are nearly the same as those among the general populace. In this thoroughly revised and updated edition, Catherine Clark Kroeger and Nancy Nason-Clark share with readers a further ten years of experience in listening to the voices of women from around the world and especially to those within the church. They help us hear their cries and find concrete ways to respond so that no home will be a place of abuse.
In this immensely helpful guide you’ll find
true stories and updated statistics that illustrate the gravity and extent of the problem worldwide
a look at what Scripture says about domestic violence, including verbal abuse and patterns of concealment, secrecy and silence
a discussion of how proper concerns for Christian families can be twisted to endanger women and their children

How can there be three Gods and yet only one God?Have you ever groaned inwardly at a question like this? Many of us find the doctrine of the Trinity that God is three persons sharing one nature difficult to get our heads round, and frankly a bit embarrassing. What is more, we seem to get by without thinking about it too deeply.
But in reality, the Trinity is at the heart of all that Christians believe. The nature of God as a Trinity gives shape to all Christian truth, and to the gospel that we believe and proclaim. And rather than be a source of embarrassment, properly understood, it should fill us with joy.
This book aims to help you see how the Trinity is fantastically good news. Because the trinity means that God is not remote and uninvolved quite the opposite. God sent His Son and His Spirit into our world to draw us into a wonderful relationship with Himself. This is the God who gives meaning and joy to our lives.
And along the way we discover that the Trinity answers other big questions: How can we know God? What happened at the cross? What does it mean to be human? How can people live together with all their differences? What does mission look like in a fragmented world?
Tim Chester will take us deeper into understanding the thrilling triune nature of God. In short accessible chapters he takes us through the Bibles teaching on the Trinity; gives us an overview of the important arguments over the trinity that have taken place throughout Christian history; and lays out the practical implications for our Christian lives.

Letters To A Young Calvinist (Reprinted)
$23.52Who would have guessed that something as austere as Calvinism would become a hot topic in today’s postmodern culture? At the 500th anniversary of John Calvin’s birth, new generations have discovered and embraced a “New Calvinism,” finding in the Reformed tradition a rich theological vision. In fact, Time cited New Calvinism as one of “10 Ideas Changing the World Right Now.” This book provides pastoral and theological counsel, inviting converts to this tradition to find in Calvin a vision that’s even bigger than the New Calvinism might suggest. Offering wisdom at the intersection of theology and culture, noted Reformed philosopher James K. A. Smith also provides pastoral caution about pride and maturity. The creative letter format invites young Calvinists into a faithful conversation that reaches back to Paul and Augustine, through Calvin and Edwards, extending to Kuyper and Wolterstorff. Together they sketch a comprehensive vision of Calvinism that is generous, winsome, and imaginative.

Remember The Poor
$38.99Combining historical, exegetical, and theological interests, Bruce Longenecker here dispels the widespread notion that Paul had little or no concern for the poor.
Longnecker’s analysis of Greco-Roman poverty provides the backdrop for a compelling presentation of the importance of care for the poor within Paul’s theology and the Jesus-groups he had established. Along the way, Longenecker calls into question a variety of interpretive paradigms and offers a fresh vision in which Paul’s theological resources are shown to be both historically significant and theologically challenging.

Brotherhood Of All Mankind
$35.61It is a fact that there is an estimated 7,000,000,000,000 people in the world today of various ethnicities and cultures. Biblically all of these ethnic entities are the descendents of Adam and Eve. [Romans 5:19] Furthermore the origins of the multiethnic races biblically began in Genesis 11:1-9 known as the Table of Nations. [Genesis 10:1-32] It is therefore by the Will of God that we were made such a diverse race of people, and it is my intention to prove by the preponderance of the evidence (biblically, historically, and scientifically,) that all human beings regardless of ethnicity are brothers and sisters in the Eyes of God. Biblically the sons of Noah were commanded to replenish the entire earth. [Genesis 10:32] Historically many archaeologists believe that the earliest migration of mankind began on the continent of Africa. Scientifically the difference among all ethnicities is only 0.1%. Moreover biochemists have studied the mitochondria genes of all the major ethnicities of the world and have determined that all ethnicities of mankind come from one principle genetic ethnicity. There are three basic truths acceptable in our social society: biblical truth, historical evidence, and scientific data. In this book each of these truths shall agree as one truth, thus clarifying the sum of all truth: that all mankind were created by God, and all mankind are brothers and sisters of the flesh. This lead us to the question in Malachi 2:10 “Have we not all one father? has not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?”

Calling In The Remnant
$21.86Do you bounce from church to church wondering why the churches today do not resemble the early church in the Bible? Are you told you are too sensitive or worse yet, in rebellion, when you refuse to sit quietly by, when people are lied to and manipulated into submitting themselves to a corrupt system? Are you told you will never find a perfect church since they are all made up of imperfect people, like you?
I don’t buy it? John the Baptist called for the church to repent to prepare the way for the birth of our Lord. Today I am calling for the church to repent, the whole Christian church, in preparation for Our Lord’s Second Coming! I am “Calling In The Remnant” to be unified not in possessions, or property, but in unity of purpose, looking to survive what is to come as the true body of Christ, not enabling dysfunction but encouraging ALL of the saints to “keep the faith and finish the race.”

Equipping Laypeople For Transformational Workplace Ministry
$19.98Equipping Laypeople Many Christians fail to see their places of work as their most logical mission field, missing opportunities for both workplace ministry and evangelism. Those who do see their places of work as a mission field are making a tremendous difference where they work. Given the amount of hours typically spent working, the personal trials and dysfunctions many carry with them to work, as well as the poor working conditions of many American workers, there is a tremendous need for Christians to transform their places of work. Even though many pastors tell their church members to go out and reach people, they are not providing them with the necessary training to reach those in the workplace. There is a great need for laypeople to be built up, to be creative, and to live out their faith at work. Pastors have been given the ultimate privilege of equipping God’s people for service. Churches must be intentional about providing laypersons with the theological tools and practical information necessary to understand and effectively exercise workplace ministry. We must begin by accepting that all God’s people are placed in workplace ministry, and seek to know God’s original plan for work, as well as how to integrate work and faith. In EQUIPPING LAYPEOPLE FOR TRANSFORMATIONAL WORKPLACE MINISTRY, Caroloretta Tucker offers her Doctorate’s thesis research results to pastors and churches as a firm foundation for this effort.
