For Better Or For Verse
$13.26So tiny and helpless, so sweet and so mild,
so dependent and loving-this beautiful child.
A gem, a jewel, a precious pearl-
such a wonderful gift, this little girl.
I can reduce any man to a weeping pile,
but all it takes is that little smile,
and now I’m mush …-Tom Gusky
Tom Gusky does not believe in fifty dollar words or mysterious hidden messages in his poetry. Instead, he prefers to share a tender and sometimes tongue-in-cheek lyrical view of life that reflects on the bonds of family love, the trials and joys of raising children, and the experiences that draw all of us closer to God.
Tom injects humor and emotion in poems for the masses that reflect on his observations about the pilot of his family’s ship as well as an angel in diapers, the face of God, the cycle of life, and the journey of a man as he ages. Throughout each verse, Tom offers gentle reminders about the important things in life: faith, family, and unconditional love.
For Better or for Verse shares a collection of thought-provoking poetry as one man looks back on all the joys and sorrows of a life well lived.

Message Maker : Words From A World Away
$14.99Author Leta Rae Pereira is just an ordinary person who never envisioned writing any book of poetry, let alone one where verse after verse flowed freely from her. Even so, this was part of God’s plan and purpose for her all along. The Message Maker presents a collection of her inspiring poems, written to touch and minister to many hungry hearts. Some of her poems, such as The Eleventh Hour relate to events that have touched her life; others consider God’s love and Scriptures and their effect on His children. In the poem Inside Out we learn that when we forget about ourselves and minister to others, the door opens for Jesus to come in and minister to us. Her first poem, Come . . . Follow Me opened the gateway for all of the poems that followed. Each poem has been written with love and spirituality, and each has deeply touched her own prayer life. Now she shares them, seeking to guide you on your own journey and bring you the knowledge of God’s immense love for you.

Glimpse Into My Life Through Prose And Poetry
$18.11During my first years of school, I caught pure hell. I was bullied each and every day. Kids would attack me with “O dumb fly”; I would be standing, talking to some one and another person would pretend to smell me, then say ” he’s ate some shit because he stinks”! Then they would all run away from me. Just try to feel what I felt as a kid. Besides that, my cloths were tattered, faded and dyed. Same colored shirts and pants, but mine came from “GoodWill” and was either patched, sewed or faded. Coats had holes. Mama could only buy one pair of shoes for me/ no two, because I did have a dressed pair to wear to church, but my every day shoes were brogans. Brogans were black boots that had big steel taps on the front and the back of the soles. One could literally hear me coming from a block away.
I had a fight of some sort almost every day. Incidentally, my Mama enrolled me into Catholic School. (Light blue shirts dark blue pants and ties.). Had I been going to school in this day and time, I would have been a fashion statement.Add to cartin stock within 3-5 days of online purchase

Deliver Me From Evil
$13.73Deliverance is The Children’s Bread
Restoration and healing has always been God’s desire for mankind. Ever since Adam and Eve sinned in the garden God devised a plan to restore our relationship with Him. Elaine Norwood -Wheatley expresses through her poetry both revelation and knowledge. God wants those who love Him to worship Him in spirit and in Truth. He loves mankind and doesn’t want to leave us in a state of confusion. Deliver me from Evil is a book of poetry that can bring Deliverance, and Healing.
She deeply sought the heart of God while writing these selective poems. The focus on today’s’ issues and how it affects others shines forth with zeal and passion. The impetus to write these poems was birthed from the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. The book compels the reader to reflect on his walk with Christ and to strive to become a living epistle read of men. Word In My Mouth Selected Spiritual Poems
$26.00These poems–selected from the past three decades–are firmly rooted in what Richard Wilbur called the “hunks and colors of the world.” They faithfully try to take into account a world we did not make and, at the same time, record the terrifying and painful contradictions of human experience. And finally, they try to do so while remaining open to the intrinsic joy of being. These are poems rooted in the belief that words can invoke those presences which bring us back, again and again, to the fundamental experience of being: that there is something rather than nothing. The poems in A Word In My Mouth embody, as Czeslaw Milosz puts it, “the double life of our common human circumstance as beings in between the dust that we are and the divinity to which we would aspire.” “Over decades, Robert Cording has created a body of poetry that can bear serious comparison with the tradition of English-language spiritual poetry.

Gold
$13.00Barbara Crooker’s new book Gold focuses on one of the most profound life-altering experiences possible: losing one’s mother. This collection is an elegy, not just to the speaker’s mother, but to a lost Eden that cannot be reclaimed. Beginning with a series of lyrics set in autumn, the poems become more narrative, recounting the long illness of Crooker’s mother, her death, and the profound journey along the shores of grief. Throughout, Crooker is aware of the complexity and strength of the mother/daughter relationship and the chasm that this loss opens. The book includes other themes: poems about aging and the body, the loss of friends, the difficulties and joys in a long-term marriage, and always, the subtle ways faith influences the way Crooker experiences life. Her work has great scope, spanning the globe from rural Pennsylvania to Ireland, and reaching not just within herself but also outside of herself, to ekphrastic poems on the paintings of Gorky, Manet, Matisse, and others. This is the book of a mature writer, one who demonstrates an awareness of our own impermanence, our brokenness, and one who knows that if our parents go before us, we will have to learn to live with loss. In this book, we see the redemptive power of poetry itself to heal and to console.

Particular Scandals A Book Of Poems
$15.00Broad in scope–theological, ecological, and personal–and acutely particular in details–witnessed and lived–the affecting poems in Particular Scandals explore how one endures suffering, avoiding the cliches of both bitterness and transcendence. Thus, while Moore’s poetry depicts the debilitating ruin illness wreaks, it also embraces the beauty and mystery in creation, in faith, even in tribulation itself. At the book’s core is pure paradox and insightful integration, wedding Christmas–Christ’s incarnation and eventual, willing sacrifice–to pain and grief. Thus, on the heels of Moore’s multiple surgeries and amid her husband’s serious heart problem–both while in their forties–come ”flashes of hallelujah” and songs knit with Amens ”un- / broken, like a world without end.” Empathetic and observant, Moore’s evocative poems also turn their attention to friends’ and other family members’ appalling losses: a stillborn infant, suicidal adolescents, molested, and trafficked children. All in all, the book portrays how Moore survives like the Sycamore tree in one of her poems, ”scabbed and scarred from moments like this,” offering her ”empty self / like a cup to the Lord of the storm.”

As Eagles Fly
$13.73The most majestic of all birds is the eagle. Known for achieving great heights, the eagle soars above the earth unencumbered and unconcerned about what’s happening on the ground. It flies toward places too high and unattainable for any other of God’s creation. In God’s Word, we are encouraged to let our hearts soar spiritually to heights above painful experiences, sorrow, and disappointments. That is the message of this book. Everyone needs encouragement, hope, and comfort as the events of life unfold. Sometimes, we need a reminder that God is watching over us and has His arms outstretched to us always. Sometimes, we need to choose between where we are and where we need to go spiritually and emotionally. The free verse poems in AS EAGLES FLY are written as a suggestion of how high we may aspire to go if we break free of feelings and attitudes that would keep us looking down. ” SEQ CHAPTER h r 1Patricia and Sharron have hit the mark! These poems inspire one to look up and live above the adversities that inevitably come our way. They go right to the heart and bring a unique perspective to life in this modern world. The collection ought to carry a by-line from Philippians 4:8: ‘…think on these things.'” –Sam Brockway, Pastor, Fortress Fellowship, Lawrenceville, Georgia Patricia McKay and Sharron McKee, both retired educators, collaborated in the writing of this book of free verse poems because of their shared heart desire to instruct and encourage Christians to live above the circumstances of life.

Imago Dei : Poems From Christianity And Literature
$29.98Imago Dei brings together a collection of poets who merge faith, literature, and art as a form of worship and inspiration.
An anthology of the best poems published in the journal Christianity and Literature over the past sixty years, Imago Dei brings together in one volume poetry which exemplifies the richness and variety of the art. These poems find beauty in the concrete and particular, but they also ask the big questions: Why do we exist? Who is God? Where do we find God? What does the Incarnation mean? When does God speak to us, and why is God silent?
These poets all have in common an awareness of human experience as part of a grand narrative, of the Imago Dei embedded in human nature, and of the sense of connection to something much larger than themselves. These are poems written from within a theological tradition, though they are not necessarily traditional in form or expression. They upset the usual in their originality; they are Worded words, connected to our earthly life but pointed toward the Kingdom of God; they are redemptive words made flesh.
Included in the over one hundred poets represented here are Wendell Berry, Mark Jarmon, Jeanne Murray Walker, Dana Gioa, Martha Serpas, Luci Shaw, and Robert Siegel. All of the poets in this collection grapple with what Imago Dei means for them as readers, writers, artists, teachers, and students.

Truthful Color Of God
$10.00How soon do we realize that what we have in our hands is the one thing that we really yearn for? Think of love, chances, and relationships beyond recall, and the regrets that come along. Why does the truth escape us at the time it matters most to us? The Truthful Color of God reflects on such instances in the life of its creator. In “You Are My Soul,” for example, Tho Pham plays with the thought of the convenience of a time machine to change the past in light of recent realization.
The Truthful Color of God reflects on the cosmological continuum and how Christianity figures in it.

Tangible Thoughts 1
$33.11Tangible Thoughts Vol. 1: Inner City Blues is the first installment of a collection of poems influenced by the experiences of Nicole Williams. She has catalogued in each poem an element of the environment in which she grew up. The title “Inner City Blues” was inspired by the Marvin Gaye song “Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler)”. Upon hearing this song Nicole realized that it perfectly described the tone of her poems. The song gave voice and illustration to the words she had scripted. Inner City Blues is a gritty look at the reality of inner city life. It is testament to what goes on behind the walls and fences of projects and ghettos across America. It also gives witness to the fact that your location does not determine your latitude in life. Nicole chose to rise above her station in life and this first installment in the collection of poems for Tangible Thoughts was the ladder she used. Each poem will inspire, encourage and ignite the reader. With the God given talent of turning experience into poetry Nicole is giving everyone an opportunity to understand, the “Inner City Blues”.

May you hear Him speak words of encouragement and peace, bringing you comfort. May joy fill you to overflowing, strengthening you and enabling you to worship and praise the God of all creation.

Edmund Spenser (1559-99) has earned the title ‘the poet’s poet’ because of the high poetry of his epic and because so many great poets, including Milton, Dryden, Tennyson, and Keats, cut their poetic teeth on The Faerie Queene. The hero of Book II is Sir Guyon, the knight of Temperance. But do not let that throw you. This is not a poem about teetotalism. As C.S. Lewis puts it, The Faerie Queene ‘demands of us a child’s love of marvels and dread of bogies, a boy’s thirst for adventures, a young man’s passions for physical beauty.
Following in the wake of Roy Maynard’s Fierce Wars and Faithful Loves, Toby Sumpter’s notes are insightful and humorous making this great Christian epic poem accessible for modern readers. The Elfin Knight makes an excellent choice as a homeschool or classroom text.

Dared To Be Me
$19.36Dared To Be Me is a reflection of a damaged soul, a darkened state of being, and the affects of rebellion due to pain. It expresses hope, through Jesus Christ. The problem is finding the way back to His marvelous light. It is a lifestyle captured through poetry, expressing feelings of despair, anger, bitterness, and loss. It attempts to reveal the importance of love, but beyond that the misery of disconnection. However, when God is revealed and salvation is granted, the reality becomes His will. Past experience of rebellion is replaced with joy and obedience. Recognition, at last, to live life God’s way!

From A Legend And Kingdom Of Darkness Into Poems Of Hope
$33.73A tremendous testimony of God’s grace and love that ultimately births and inspires poems of hope. Antionette Campbell clearly displays her gift of writing. This will offer insight to those who may be walking through similar situations or simply facing obstacles in life. Victory is imminent and God is given the glory. A great mixture of story and inspirational poetry that will keep you reading until the end. This will be the first of many great books to come. -Laura Goncalves… Antionette Campbell’s life is a testimony of God’s grace and love to Deuteronomy 4:29-31. I’ll paraphrase it. If you truly seek God with your heart and soul; and when troubles come to you, in future days, if you’ll come back to God and listen to His voice. He won’t abandon you to ruin or forget the covenant He swore to your ancestors. -Lorraine Lambright

How To Walk In Christ
$47.48Sin cannot be gotten rid of by sinfulness.
Unrighteousness cannot sprout forth righteousness.
An unjust condition cannot bring about justification.
From an unsanctified condition, sanctification can never grow.
From unholiness, holiness cannot possibly be brought into reality.
And an incapacitated moral nature can never bring about a proper moral condition.
Trying within our own strength, ability, and capacities to bring about what God desires for us, is like trying to get flood waters to dry up by throwing buckets of water on them. It could also be compared to trying to put out a fire with a flame thrower, or even like trying to paint a wall white, by using black paint.Add to cartin stock within 3-5 days of online purchase
