I Envy Birds
$34.98
My father, Joe B. Chapman, was shuffled from town to town during his childhood as his father followed work on the pipeline. He saw many places and met many people. Texas A&M was the college of his choice and where he earned a degree in Industrial Engineering. His education enabled him to pursue a career which enabled him to see what was once considered the far and exotic reaches of the earth. Not only did my father obtain the knowledge found in books, but he saw the mysteries of other cultures. By human standards, you could say that my dad, although not of noble birth, was influential in his field and has great wisdom. (I Corinthians 1:25-31) these verses teach us, the foolish things of the world can confound the wise. Daddy understands this truth and he has kept his eyes on the Lord and trusted in the Lord’s wisdom and guidance throughout his life. When he tells stories of his travels in the past, he does not boast of the things he has seen or done, but he boasts of what the Lord has allowed him to see and experience as well as the protection He has afforded my dad. By God’s standards, my dad is of noble birth. He is covered in the righteousness of Jesus, which makes him a joint heir in all that God has and loves to give to His children. What my dad wants you to know, and tells you through his poetry is that you too can be a child of The King. You can be redeemed and sanctified by God and you too can boast in the Lord. Be Like Jesus Study Guide (Student/Study Guide)
$13.99In this eight-session video Bible study (DVD/digital downloads sold separately), pastor and author Randy Frazee explains that our spiritual transformation involves not only thinking and acting like Jesus but also allowing those thoughts and behaviors to shape our attitudes. As we do this, we experience a new way of looking at the world and discover an inner strength that allows us to remain steadfast, secure, and solid in the face of any circumstance. We also discover a new desire to serve others . . . which, in turn, draws them to the love of Christ. We know we are becoming like Jesus when we possess these attributes:
*I have a deep love for God and for the other people in my life.
*I have inner contentment in spite of my circumstances and understand my purpose in life.
*I have freedom from anxiety because I am at peace with God, others, and myself.
*I have experienced the power, through Christ, to control my thoughts and behaviors.
*I have patience in the unavoidable pressures of life and am slow to anger.
*I have the desire to be kind and good in my relationships with others.
*I have established a good name with God and others based on my loyalty to those relationships.
*I have become thoughtful, considerate, and calm in my dealings with others.Grounded in carefully selected scripture, Be Like Jesus is a churchwide discipleship program that will take you on a journey to become more like Jesus in your behaviors. This revised study, adapted from Part 3 of the Believe churchwide study, includes an updated video study and new content and questions adapted from the existing Believe Study Guide and Think, Act, Be Like Jesus by Randy Frazee.

Abolition Of Man
$17.99In this graceful work, C. S. Lewis reflects on society and nature and the challenges of how best to educate our children. He eloquently argues that we need as a society to underpin reading and writing with lessons on morality and in the process both educate and re-educate ourselves. In the words of Walter Hooper, “If someone were to come to me and say that, with the exception of the Bible, everyone on earth was going to be required to read one and the same book, and then ask what it should be, I would with no hesitation say The Abolition of Man. It is the most perfectly reasoned defense of Natural Law (Morality) I have ever seen, or believe to exist. If any book is able to save us from future excesses of folly and evil, it is this book.” This beautiful paperback edition is sure to attract new readers to this classic book.
