    • Accompany Them With Singing

      $28.00

Thomas G. Long, one of America’s most trusted and thoughtful pulpit voices, provides a theological and cultural critique of today’s Christian funeral.
Long begins by describing how the Christian funeral developed historically, theologically, and liturgically, and then discusses recent cultural trends in funeral practices, including the rise in both cremations and memorial services. He describes the basic pattern for a funeral service, details options in funeral planning, identifies characteristics of a “good funeral,” and provides thoughtful guidance for preaching at a funeral.

But Long also notes a disturbing trend toward funeral services that seem theologically right and pastorally caring, but actually depart from the primary aims of the Christian funeral constructed around the metaphor of the deceased as a saint traveling on a baptismal journey toward God, accompanied by the community of faith on “the last mile of the way.” He argues that the cultural conditions for maintaining this view are under stress and a new, less-theological and less-satisfying metaphor that focuses on the mourner has begun to erode the Christian view. He contrasts the ancient grand community drama with today’s trend toward body-less memorial services that focus primarily on the living and grief management. This is a loss for the church, he argues, and he calls for the church to reclaim the classic metaphor. Accompany Them with Singing is a practical and theologically sound resource for Protestant and Roman Catholic clergy and for funeral professionals.

    • DMR 5 : The Next Generation

      $22.48

The country’s going to hell in a hand basket but “Chaplain” and her young neighbor, Major, are fiercely determined to prevent that from happening. Their paths crossing is no accident in the heavenly scheme of things yet both harbor some dark secrets. As the light is shed on their darkness, it also blasts through the hearts of many young people who also hunger for a new kind of revival. A revival that raises up the next generation…the DMR-5! The author, a Vietnam Veteran Flight Nurse, former college nursing instructor, Christian schoolteacher, and volunteer Florida Army National Guard Chaplain, is currently ministering as an Associate Pastor in Tampa, FL, as well as continuing service as Chaplain (Lt Col) in the Air Force Auxiliary/Civil Air Patrol. Dr. Pugsley is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars while living out a life of service to God and country. With degrees in Nursing, Counseling and a Doctorate in Biblical Studies, she brings a multi-faceted voice to the reader. She is a lifetime member of numerous veteran and military organizations; is still an active (though much slower) athlete who has completed three triathlons, run six marathons and numerous half marathons from 1999-2012. In addition to running, Dr. Pugsley is a frequent hiker on the Appalachian Trail, facetiously remarking that she has only 1,800 miles left to finish the little dear!

    • Do You Want To Be Healed

      $19.98

So you’ve prayed to God that He will take your pain away, but it just seems as if He wants you to carry that cross forever. Have you ever thought that perhaps God really does want to heal you, but you’re actually standing in the way? Do You Want to Be Healed? Allowing God to Heal Brokenness in Your Life shares a little-known truth about Jesus’ healing ministry-you have to be ready for healing before Jesus will heal you. That means you can’t keep one foot in your dysfunction while crying out to God for help. You have to go all in before Jesus can perform that healing miracle in your life. If you’re ready for that kind of commitment-ready for Jesus to wipe away your tears and heal the brokenness in your soul-take a chance and say, yes, I want to be healed. Newspaper editor, soldier, political consultant, private investigator, intelligence officer, adjunct professor, business owner, senior executive, Bachelors and Masters Degrees-on paper Tom Mann looks like one of the more successful people you will meet. You would never see the dysfunction that consumed him, caused by too many years of neglect and abuse as a child. For years, he thought everyone else was nuts until the day he realized it was actually him. Crying out to Jesus, Tom found healing, but not in some “shabalee-doo, you’re healed” kind of way. No, more like the “Submit yourself fully to Jesus and do things you don’t want to do” kind of way. God has used Tom’s pain for good, giving Tom the ability to powerfully speak into other’s lives about healing. Now he desperately wants you to have the same kind of healing God has given him. • Job 41 : The Leviathan Spirit Of Pride

      $18.11

Have you ever wondered why your ministry is not flourishing the way God promised you? Have you ever wondered why you are working in the ministry, but not operating in your calling? Has there been an inference that you were just a servant and your job was to support “the ministry inside the four walls,” while undermining the calling to extend beyond the four walls? God compels us to go and make disciples of men and women, and there should be no debate or pushback to advance the Kingdom of God. There is a spirit that has masked itself in the church of today as a spiritual mentor or covering, or one who provides spiritual guidance to you. This spirit that is exposed in the Book of Job is real and has stifled many parishioners, especially leaders, from walking in the ordained gifts of God. I have heard sermon after sermon on the story of Job, but never anything relating to Chapter 41. God allows certain messages to be released at a time when they will be heard and fully understood. This is a universal message for the church of today.

    • Where Would Jesus Go To Church

      $41.18

Gerald Roe was interrupted while lecturing in his church-planting class by a student who asked, “What if Jesus came back right now to live on earth like He did in Bible days? Wouldn’t He go to church the same way He went to the synagogue back then? Which church would He choose? If the true church is all about Jesus, wouldn’t it be a good idea to consider what Jesus would look for in a church and make that part of our church planting methodology?” Where Would Jesus Go to Church? answers those questions. As Dr. Roe makes clear, for the blessings of God to rest upon any congregation, the church must answer two important questions: What is the true church? and What is the church to do? In far too many instances, these questions are being asked in the reverse order, leading to a compromising disconnect between the church’s essential biblical character and its earthly effectiveness. Where Would Jesus Go to Church? sheds needed light and offers practical, biblical answers.

    • Liturgical Sense : The Logic Of Rite

      $29.26

      * A premier Anglican liturgical theologian reviews the history of the liturgical movement
in North America and anticipates next steps in liturgical “sensibility”

Louis Weil looks back on his work shaping the liturgical life of the Episcopal Church
through his involvement with the development of The 1979 Book of Common Prayer-
and looks forward to the future of the church and its liturgical life. Through stories and
first-person anecdotes, Weil does “narrative theology” as only he can.

Although most points of reference are to the 1979 BCP, the book is aiming at a more
fundamental level-not just Episcopal or even Anglican liturgy, but liturgical rites as
such: how do they “do what they do”?-or NOT do when they are done badly! “Liturgical
Sense” is two dimensional: both the “common sense” of liturgical rites and also their
      “aesthetic sense.”

It is Dr. Weil’s contention that in American culture we have an inherent inability to “think
symbolically.” Dr. Weil seeks to encourage a return to “liturgical sense” across the church.

    • To All Nations From All Nations

      $60.99

Sharing the Good News might be understood as the prime directive of the Church from its earliest times, but the Church soon discovered unforeseen obstacles and its own set of temptations, including its lust for power and domination. Although the gospel might be joyfully offered, it was not always received in the same spirit. And the Church was not always gracious with dissent and criticism. Even so, the Church continues to reach out to the least, the last, and the lost-attempting to bring them into the family of God. But for mission to be effective today, it must take advantage of indigenous resources and recognize its limitations as well as its gifts.

This book broadly introduces prominent missionary practices and major historical figures using three perspectives. First, it takes into account the missionary activity proceeding from the margins rather than only discussing the center of theological and ecclesial activity. Second, it narrates the cross-cultural, cross-confessional, and cross-religious dynamics that characterize Christian missionary activity. And third, it emphasizes that much missionary activity is generated by national rather than international missionaries. The text concludes with a chapter on the postmodern and postcolonial world.

      $13.95

Are you attending a church you used to love, but you’ve lost your zeal for God? Do you feel coerced, manipulated and even raped-as if others have stolen your freedom, your passion and even your joy?

In her landmark new book, I’ve Been Raped by the Church, A Recovery Guide for the Wounded, Co-Pastor and Evangelist Vicky Lynch shares a shocking truth-not all churches are safe places, even for believers. Everyday people are wounded by pastors who are supposed to be lovingly shepherding their flocks, but instead are wounding and killing them. Some are so good at it that their people wonder if they are delusional or if the church is out-of-order. How can these things be?

Well, even Old Testament Scripture addresses these issues. This problem is not a new one, but it has always broken the heart of God, who wants pastors to reflect His unconditional love and help His people find their destinies. Vicky shares insights that will equip you to identify church abuse and offers options on dealing with it. If you’ve been victimized by church abuse, she offers hope and healing for you and others you know who struggle.

    • Scripture And Tradition

      $32.94

In some of the church’s history, Scripture has been pitted against tradition and vice versa. Prominent New Testament scholar Edith Humphrey, who understands the issue from both Protestant and Catholic/Orthodox perspectives, revisits this perennial point of tension. She demonstrates that the Bible itself reveals the importance of tradition, exploring how the Gospels, Acts, and the Epistles show Jesus and the apostles claiming the authority of tradition as God’s Word, both written and spoken. Arguing that Scripture and tradition are not in opposition but are necessarily and inextricably intertwined, Humphrey defends tradition as God’s gift to the church. She also works to dismantle rigid views of sola scriptura while holding a high view of Scripture’s authority.

Survival required acceptance of his own weakness and reliance on the strength of God. Lifted in the everlasting arms, he struggled down paths of darkness to a haven in the light of God’s love. Michael shared his story of hope with anyone who would listen. Then the Spirit prompted him to write this book.

    • Power Of A Parents Blessing

      $18.99

There are seven critical times in life at which God intends for every person to receive a powerful impartation from Him of identity and destiny. In the first six God uses parents, and in the seventh He uses adult children to impart blessing back to their parents.

The primary connotation of the Hebrew word baruch, “to bless,” is “to empower to prosper.” Thus, parents who bless their child at these six critical times literally empower the child to prosper, while parents who, through lack of knowledge, fail to bless-or actually curse-may spiritually and emotionally cripple the child.
Craig Hill answers key questions for each critical time in a child’s life, including:

      * What is the key identity and destiny question to be answered in the heart of the child?
      * When is the appropriate time to bless?
      * What are potential consequences of not blessing?
      * What is the role of each parent in blessing at this specific time?
      * What are practical tools to use in blessing?

Blessing is a custom established by God and meant to function in every family. The Power of a Parent’s Blessing gives readers the practical tools by which they can experience the transformational blessings of God for themselves and their families.

    • I Love Growing Older But Ill Never Grow Old

      $16.99

Growing older is a process. Growing old is a conclusion. If you’re growing older you see some hope because you have perspective and you keep learning. If you’ve grown old, you may cynically think that times have never been as bas as they are now, and that they can only get worse.

This book is about learning how to “make peace with where you are right now.” It’s about learning from the past and then moving past it. It’s about growing – personally, spiritually, and in our relationships with God and with others. If we think properly about growing older we’ll never have to grow old.

    • 17 Indisputable Laws Of Teamwork

      $19.99

The go-to guide for building and maintaining successful teams.

People who have taken their teams to the highest level in their field often have difficulty recreating what accounted for their successes. Is it a strong work ethic? Is it “chemistry”? What tools can you wrap your hands around to build-or rebuild-your team? In The 17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork, leadership expert and New York Times bestselling author John C. Maxwell shares the vital principles of team building that are necessary for success in your business, family, church, or organization.

In his practical, down-to-earth style, he shows how:
The Law of High Morale inspired a 50-year-old man, who couldn’t even swim, to train for the toughest triathlon in the world.
The Law of the Big Picture prompted a former U.S. president to travel cross-country by bus, sleep in a basement, and do manual labor.
Playing by the Law of the Scoreboard enabled one Web-based company to keep growing and making money while thousands of other Internet businesses failed.
Ignoring the Law of the Price Tag caused one of the world’s largest retailers to close its doors after 128 years in business.

The 17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork empowers readers-whether coaches or players, teachers or students, CEOs or non-profit volunteers-with the “how-tos” and attitudes for building a successful team.

For the first five decades of his life, Seung-Whan (Steven) Kim was a businessman who pursued financial prosperity, while largely ignoring both his family and his commitment to God. But after moving to China and rededicating his life to Christ, this South Korean-turned-American citizen felt called by God to help North Korean refugees escape from Chinese enslavement. In 2003, he was arrested while leading a prayer meeting of nine North Koreans in his apartment.

    • Gospel For Today

      $15.99

The gospel presented in these sermons is the same gospel of a crucified Christ, a Savior from the guilt of sin, and a risen Christ, a Savior from the present power of sin, that we have been preaching throughout our entire ministry as pastor, and as evangelist in all parts of the world.
      -R. A. Torrey

From 1902-1907, R. A. Torrey went on a series of startlingly successful speaking tours to nearly every part of the English-speaking world. His preaching sparked revivals and drew crowds on multiple continents. Throughout these tours and for the rest of his ministry, he delighted in pointing out that the message he preached was changeless.

The Gospel for Today is a collection of those sermons, as poignant and effective today as when he first preached them. It is sure to be a treasured part of any Christian book collection.

    • Mirror Bible 2nd Edition

      $93.12

People who have stopped reading the Bible or never even read it before say about The Mirror, “I have never read anything that touched me so deeply, it is a brand new Bible, I cannot wait to give it to all my friends!” The Mirror Bible is a paraphrase from the original Greek text. While the detailed shades of meaning of every Greek word have been closely studied, this is done taking into account the consistent context of the entire chapter within the wider epistle, and bearing in mind the full context of Jesus as the revealer and redeemer of the image and likeness of the invisible God in human form, which is what the message of the Bible is all about. To assist the reader in their study, I have numerically superscripted the Greek word and corresponded it with the closest English word in the italicized commentary that follows. This is to create a direct comparison of words between the two languages. Many words used in previous translations have adopted meanings in time that distract from the original thought. Individual words can greatly influence the interpretation of any conversation. For years deliberate as well as oblivious errors in translations were repeated and have empowered the religious institutions of the day to influence, manipulate and even abuse masses of people. Consider the word metanoia, consisting of two components, meta, together with, and nous, mind, suggesting a radical mind shift. This word has always been translated as “repentance,” which is an old English word borrowed from the Latin word, penance. Then they added the “re” to get even more mileage out of sin consciousness. Re-penance. This gross deception led to the perverted doctrines of indulgences, where naive, ignorant people were led to believe that they needed to purchase favor from an angry god. Most cathedrals as well as many ministries were funded with guilt money. The Bible is a dangerous book! It has confused and divided more people than any other document. Scriptures have been used to justify some of the greatest atrocities in human history. People were tortured, burned to death and multitudes murdered based on somebody’s understanding of the scriptures! Jesus, Paul and believers throughout the ages faced their greatest opposition from those who knew the scriptures. If it is such a dangerous document, how does one approach the book? The Mirror unveils the Incarnation Code as the key that unlocks the mystery message of scripture. The romance of the ages is revealed here.
