    • Power Of I Will

      $12.95

There once was a time in the history of mankind when knowledge was passed on by pictures or by oral tradition. There have been periods when the common man was kept away from truth and enlightenment by cultural elite, ruthless dictators, elevated clergy and even mystics. People of the past were often kept in ignorance or were assumed to not be able to understand the very things that might set them free. We now live in an age where people have almost instant access to virtual libraries and treasuries of the accumulated wisdom and history of man. Often times in their maddening rush to learn, uncover or sort through the avalanche of information, they demand the “condensed” version. This is not a good time in history to be an encyclopedia salesman. Our parents never dreamed of a day when handwritten letters would give way to emails, which are already being replaced by text messages, tweets and twitters! With this in mind the author has created a “less is more” masterpiece. Today’s seeker is not an idiot. If she or he finds a topic of intrigue or connection, they will use whatever means at hand to search it out and build upon it. However, there is one facet in life everyone must and will face. It will change your life!

    • David Gods King

      $19.98

I have always loved the story of David’s life. It showed me that even one who was closest to God’s heart was not always perfect. So many people turn from God’s saving grace because they think they have to be perfect to come to Him. Our human nature prevents perfection. Only by staying close to Him and depending upon Him to help us not to sin and to forgive when we do, can we say as David did, “Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.” I have written this book to show people of all ages that God accepts repentance from a sinner and forgives the sin as long as that one is truly sorry and has accepted His son, Jesus, as Savior. I grew up with a mother who was a staunch believer. I have always believed, but have been far from perfect. It is my desire that this book will help all who read it to know that there is indeed hope and that God loves us each and every one. I was raised in Missouri in a rural area, was Valedictorian of my class and was star forward for our basketball team. I attended Central Methodist College and learned it wasn’t easy to stay on top when there were hundreds in my class instead of my nine classmates in high school. I graduated from the University of Missouri with an AB in Music, a BS in Elementary Education and an MEd with a Superintendent’s Certificate. I taught for 13 years, then met my husband, Joe. We built a Real Estate Brokerage, a Construction Company and a Holding Company together. We have been retired for several years and enjoy traveling and gourmet cooking. Between us, we have nine wonderful children, twenty-two grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

What is God communicating to prevent a season of misery and loss? The time to know is at your first hello, not years later after Satan has had his way with you. What is it that you already know? Will you Judge the information correctly, or downsize the data you receive? Our relationships and marriages are powerless without listening… Outside God’s voice of love they die in the heat of the day. Our excruciating toil gives us nothing in return. • Those Who Are Wise Will Shine

      $35.95

Taken from Daniel 12:3, “Those Who Are Wise Will Shine” uncovers God’s awesome power at work in the lives of those He chose to bear His message of Redemption, from Adam to Christ. The lives of these faithful brightly shined forth with His presence in the face of a world full of darkness. They knew He spoke to them, called them, and in turn, they were constrained to follow Him. There is no better way to shine for the Lord than to know with determined faith, who He really is and that where He leads, you will faithfully follow! These ancient pioneers of faith displayed just that!

This work seeks to take the readers back to the basics of Redemption and Sanctification though the unfolding of the “Redemptive Thread” that links the blood lineage of our ancient forefathers to the rise of our Messiah, Jesus Christ. It ends with the joyous events still to come at His Second Advent. From creation to the cross, redemption and sanctification are certainly defined as two of the zealous desires of the Lord. The overall central theme of the Holy Scripture is redemption. Humanity is fallen, separated from God, and in dire need of reconciliation. The Lord’s perfect gift of redemption reconciles the breach. His work in us is what follows. Immediately He begins that work, and it will never be complete until we see Him face-to-face!! He calls us to be holy and set apart for His service. Never underestimate the value He has placed on you as a vessel chosen with purpose to be His emissary shining His light into this dark world. It is God’s foundational will for each of us to emanate the fragrance of Christ in all He calls us to be.

Today, Christians in most places are still in need of the milk of the word. They lead a very shallow and powerless Christian life. It is one of the reasons the church is so lifeless in many places. It is not enough to know of the elementary principles of Christianity, we must also understand their meaning in terms of God’s continual work in us. We must take them to heart. This volume seeks to lay a foundation of trusting God by understanding how God worked in the lives of past saints to make sure His message of redemption went unhindered so it could be ours today. Millions in the past millennia have gone beyond the superficial and with God’s help, stood firmly and boldly on His side! • Forbidden Gates : How Genetics Robotics Artificial Intelligence Synthetic B

      $16.95

      Defender Publishing LLC

While Forbidden Gates includes fresh insights for traditional, tried and true methods of overcoming darkness, it also unveils for the first time how breakthrough advances in science, technology, and philosophy-including cybernetics, bio-engineering, nanotechnology, machine intelligence, synthetic biology, and transhumanism-will combine to create mind-boggling game-changes to everything you have ever known about spiritual warfare.

      How so?

In recent years, astonishing technological developments have pushed the frontiers of humanity toward far-reaching morphological transformation that promises in the very near future to redefine what it means to be human. An international, intellectual and fast-growing cultural movement known as transhumanism intends the use of genetics, robotics, artificial intelligence and nanotechnology (GRIN technologies) as tools that will radically redesign our minds, our memories, our physiology, our offspring, and even perhaps, as Joel Garreau in his bestselling book Radical Evolution claims, our very souls. The technological, cultural, and metaphysical shift now under way unapologetically forecasts a future dominated by this new species of unrecognizably superior humans, and applications under study now to make this dream reality are being funded by thousands of government and private research facilities around the world. As the reader will learn, this includes among other things rewriting human DNA and combining men with beasts, a fact that some university studies and transhumanists believe will not only alter our bodies and souls but could ultimately open a door to contact with unseen intelligence.

As a result, new modes of perception between things visible and invisible are expected to challenge the Church in ways that are historically and theologically unprecedented. Without comprehending what is quickly approaching in related disciplines of research and development, vast numbers of believers could be paralyzed by the most fantastic-and most far reaching-supernatural implications. The destiny of each individual-as well as the future of their family-will depend on their knowledge of the new paradigm and their preparedness to face it head on.

    • Reaching Muslims : A One Stop Guide For Christians

      $11.99

A short, stimulating introduction for Christians to Islam and to the main themes of Muslim culture.

A fascinating introduction covering demography, theology, culture, politics, justice, and other aspects of Islamic identity. It is well illustrated with stories and examples. Nick considers what reasons a Muslim might have for thinking that Jesus is good news. What does the Qur’an say about Jesus? Why do we know that God loves Muslims? He then suggests thirteen ‘No Regret Moves’ to help build open-hearted friendships and to equip Christians to connect with Muslims, including: Pray in faith for open hearts; Foster curiosity; Show love in action; Invite others into The Story and your story. He deals with three theological hot potatoes – should Christians call God ‘Allah’; should a convert from Islam be baptised; and should Christians eat halal meat? Detailed appendices provide sample talks for Muslim audiences, and offer seven specific ways to foster contact with the Muslim community.

    • Strong On The Outside Dying On The Inside

      $16.86

Strong on the Outside, Dying on the Inside is a wonderfully written tribute to faith, courage, hope and healing.”

Don’t be fooled by the small size of this book. In it, Lisa Brown packs a powerful message of liberation: With the help of God and qualified professionals, Black women can break free from depression.

A successful businesswoman in Washington, D.C., Lisa uses her own experience and the Biblical story of Hannah to shed light on the unspoken sadness that plagues so many Black women today. With the energy, humor and compassion of a close girlfriend, she describes the signs of depression and charts a way out.

Depression is an equal-opportunity illness. But Black women – especially those who consider themselves strong – are particularly reluctant to seek help: Only 12 percent of those affected receive treatment.

Why this resistance? Citing contemporary experts, Lisa points to reasons rooted in African American culture: the widespread belief that depression is nothing more than a bad attitude, a case of the blues, or a sign of personal weakness.

Emotional needs are not easily acknowledged by women who have been the backbone of their communities while enduring the harsh realities of slavery, bigotry and bias.

What’s more, many of these God-fearing, church-going women may resign themselves to depression, accepting their sadness as a fact of life that God, the church and their families expect them to bear.

Lisa rejects that interpretation, reminding Black women that God offers them both joy and peace. She urges readers to draw on their inner strength not to deny depression, but to face and overcome it.

Lisa calls herself “a living testimony to the value of good therapy and God’s undeniable ability to heal depression.” In these pages, she reaches out to strong Black women, inviting them to embrace the same blessing and recover a life of promise and purpose.

      Additional Info
Princeton’s Mark Lewis Taylor has always worked at the intersection of the political and theological. Now, in this intense and exciting work, he explores in a systematic way how those two dimensions of human reality can be conceived anew and together.

Taylor argues that the decline of political discourse, the justification of torture and preemptive war, mass incarceration, the misuse of religion to justify atrocity, and most especially the sheer weight of suffering in the world-all these developments urge us to reconceive theology itself.

In conjunction with the latest insights of political theory, decolonial thought, and spectral theories in contemporary philosophy, Taylor suggests that the political is the context of the theological and a realm in which we can discern, beyond simple categories of transcendence and immanence, a transimmanence that is theologically illuminative and politically liberating.

    • Worship And Mission After Christendom

      $29.99

Today, as Christendom weakens, worship and mission are poised to reunite after centuries of separation. But this requires the church to rethink both “mission” and “worship.” In post-Christendom mission, God is the main actor and God calls all Christians to participate. In post-Christendom worship, the church tells and celebrates the story of God, enabling members to live in hope and attract outsiders to its many tables of hospitality.

In this passionate and thoughtful study, Alan Kreider and Eleanor Kreider draw upon missiology, liturgiology, biblical studies, church history, and the vast experience of today’s global Christian church. Academically responsible but also practical and accessible, Worship and Mission After Christendom is a much-needed guide for people who take seriously God’s call to be the church in a world where institutional religion is no longer taken for granted.

    • Giver Of Life

      $18.99

Presents the Orthodox perspective on who the Holy Spirit is, where the mystery of God comes alive.

Delving deep and subtly into Orthodox tradition and theology, Giver of Life articulates the identity of the Holy Spirit as the third Person of the Trinity as well as the role of the Holy Spirit in the salvation of the world. Written with a poetic sensibility, Fr. Oliver begins with Pentecost, an event uniquely celebrated in Orthodoxy as a time when greenery of all kinds is brought into churches. “The splash of green foliage calls to mind not just life, but a special kind of life. It is the life that transcends biological existence and flows from the very Godhead Itself; it is life that’s a state of being-immortal, everlasting, changeless. Ferns and flowers fade and die, but souls filled with this ‘life from above’ flourish forever.” Reflecting on the relationship of the Holy Spirit to the Church, to the world, and to the human person, Giver of Life looks to the impressive biblical and liturgical tradition of Orthodox Christianity. This is a book weighty in content but accessible in tone, not an academic study of the mind, but a lived experience of the heart.

    • Translating Christ : The Memoirs Of Herman Peter Aschmann Wycliff Bible Tra

      $21.16

Told through private conversations and personal correspondence between Herman Aschmann and the author, with additional insight from Aschmann’s family and friends, Translating Christ pieces together the life of Herman Aschmann, Wycliffe Bible translator, and his wife as they lived and worked among the Totonac people of Mexico. Aschmann’s abundance of physical and intellectual energy, linked with a passionate curiosity and empathetic concern for the language and culture of the Totonac people, enabled him to translate three distinct Totonac New Testaments. his became the foundation for the remarkable growth of the Totonac church in Mexico.

Hugh Steven is a historical biographer, author, and photographer with Wycliffe Bible Translators. He has published over thirty books and hundreds of articles on the work and ministry of Wycliffe, many of which have given readers dramatic insights into the high adventure and transforming power of the translated scriptures. Now retired, Hugh and his wife Norma reside in Santa Ana, California. They have four married children, eleven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

There is a tendency to accept academic training as a criterion of expertness in translating, since people think of translators as language professionals and professionalism is usually judged in terms of years of study. On the other hand, one of the most creative translators I have ever known was Herman Aschmann, a person of limited academic training, but one who became entranced by the cultural content and literary potential of Totonac, an Indian language of Mexico. Instead of submitting one possible rendering of a biblical expression, he usually had a half dozen different ways of representing the meaning of the Greek text. Not only did he produce three exceptional New Testaments in Totonac, but he inspired local people to imitate his skill in discovering more and more meaningful ways of communicating a message into an entirely different language-culture.
-Dr. Eugene Nida, premier linguist, Bible Translation theoretician, and Herman’s former linguistics teacher

Herman Aschmann was a kindly man without pretense. His work was always more of the heart than of the head. He was plainspoken, a bit nervous, tolerant of others and always the best kind of company.
-Felipe Ramos, Totonac pastor and radio voice of the Totonac Cultural Hour

    • Christian And The Sword

      $12.00

Part of a major doctrinal tract of the Hutterites of the sixteenth century, this early Anabaptist document gives Biblical references for Christian nonviolence.

Concerning the Sword is the fourth article of the Article Book, a major doctrinal document of the Hutterites of the sixteenth century. Its author is not named but was probably the Hutterian bishop Peter Walpot (1521-1578). The book deals with the following five articles: (1) Concerning true baptism (and how infant baptism contradicts it); (2) Concerning the Lord’s Supper (and how the sacrament of the priests is against it); (3) Concerning the true surrender (Gelassenheit) and Christian community of goods; (4) That Christians should not go to war nor should they use sword or violence nor secular litigation; (5) Concerning divorce between believers and unbelievers.

The book is not a theological treatise, but rather, like all Anabaptist doctrinal writings, a collection of biblical texts topically arranged to prove the position of the church with regard to the question at issue. The title of the larger edition, A Beautiful and Pleasant Little Book Concerning the Main Articles of our Faith, is quite colorless; more to the point is the title used in the Chronicle of the Hutterian Brethren: The Five Articles of the Greatest Conflict Between Us and the World. It does not pretend to contain a complete system of Anabaptist thought but only a collection of those points and their arguments that distinguish the Brethren from the “world” and justify their particular stand. The Article Book must have been widely known in its time. Catholics as well as Lutheran polemics against it are known.

    • Kingdom And The Cross

      $17.99

      IVP Print On Demand Title

We believe a lot of false narratives about the nature of God, things like “God helps those who help themselves”; “God blesses the righteous”; “God might not be out for your good, and you might be missing something.” But pastor and professor James Bryan Smith points us to the truth of who God is, revealed by Jesus: A God who loves to help the helpless. A God who doesn’t play favorites, whether righteous or unrighteous. A God who is, in his essence, self-sacrificing–even to death–to save a people he loves. In six short chapters, The Kingdom and the Cross zooms in on Christ’s work on the cross and what it all means about who God is and how we’re to live as his people. A soul training exercise is included for each chapter to help the new true narrative take root in our hearts. And a discussion guide at the end makes this complement to The Apprentice Series perfect for groups to work through together, especially during the season of Lent. Understanding Christ’s work on the cross is crucial for any apprentice of Jesus. Here is a resource to help you see–and believe–more fully, that you might live more faithfully in his kingdom.
